ANADO McLAUCHLIN who explored his interior landscape in what he called“Installed Poetry.” Metaphor is the thread that Anado followed as he revealed his connection with kismet and mystery.
ANN CHAMBERLIN’s work is a special favorite of visitors and collectors at the Chapel. Her outpourings are based in what appears to be a primitive eye. However, deeper observation reveals the hand of an accomplished painter with an insightful feminine viewpoint that salutes and addresses the farcical plight of mankind.
BLAKE LANNON has been painting since her early years. She had her first shows in Los Angeles in the 70’s. Her work is concerned with empathy for those who are suffering from war, immigration and abuse. The work is strong in color and subtle in message.
BEVERLY MOOR has exhibited art world-wide. Her method consists of painting on heavy-weight paper and manipulating it to create multi-dimensional, many layered surfaces. The result is rough, organic, almost geologic, evoking the raw beauty of ruins and natural formations.
CARLOS RAMIREZ was the assistant of Anado McLauchlin who has made a name for himself in San Miguel…His adorned cow skulls leap off the wall and into your heart. His indigenous heritage is celebrated in this intricate work.
EDWARD SWIFT is displaying his esoteric paper mache figures and assemblages. A literary story line emerges from these renderings that evoke an almost shamanic salute of days past.
LUISA LOPEZ is a recent graduate of the University of Guanajuato in the Visual Arts.We welcome her to Equinox! research.
RICHARD SCHULTZ a co-creater of The Chapel of Jimmy Ray Gallery with Anado McLaughlin. He taught art history for over 30 years and is also a assemblage artist.
MERYL TRUETT has also been exhibited world-wide. Her new body of work is photographically-based mixed media with encaustic, incorporating the color and iconography of her adopted home. Her exuberant pieces come from a place of intuitive painting coupled with historic research.
